Shelby Kleimer

Longtime Coloradan Shelby Gay Kleimer died on March 10, 2022. She was 78. A service was held on March 14 at the Vail Interfaith Chapel, officiated by Rabbi Joel Newman. Arrangements were made by Feldman Mortuary.

Mrs. Kleimer was born on May 15, 1943. Her family was rooted in New Jersey, but moved to Vail in 1977.

Mrs Kleimer later lived in nearby Edwards.

While living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Mrs. Kleimer received her Master’s degree from Southwestern College in social work, specializing in grief counseling. She was a volunteer at opera houses and museums.

“She had a love for music, especially if she could sing along,” the family said, “but her passion and spirit for life were expressed best through her Zumba dancing.”

Survivors include children Ben (Michele Serine) Kleimer, Rachael (Brad) Cohen and Naomi (John) Weetman; and five grandchildren.
