Selma Rose

Selma Ruth RoseSelma Ruth Rose, who spent every summer at the Aspen Music Festival, passed away Sept. 13, 2012, in Denver. Rabbi Joe Black officiated at the Sept. 15 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“She loved music, opera, traveling, skiing, tennis, golf, sewing, cooking and her grandchildren,” her family said.

Mrs. Rose was born Sept. 3, 1921, in New York City and attended Hunter College.

She married Albert Rose on Sept. 21, 1939. Mr. Rose passed away on Feb. 8, 2002.

A homemaker, Mrs. Rose went to the Aspen Music Festival every summer.

Mrs. Rose is survived by her children Carolyn (Joe) Borus, Dr. Daniel (Ellen) Rose and Dr. Franklin (Cindy) Rose; grandchildren Todd (Anne) Borus, Justin (Tobey) Borus, Erika Rose, Ben Rose, Will Pinson-Rose; and great-grandchildren Samantha and Alexandra Borus, Ronan and Poppie Borus and Elina Ackerman.

She was predeceased by her grandson Jim Pinson-Rose.
