Scott Hailpern, who grew up in Denver’s Virginia Vale neighborhood, died on Jan. 18, 2022. A service was held Jan. 21 at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Joseph Black and Cantor Elizabeth Sacks.
Mr. Hailpern was born on Sept. 24, 1968.
Both of his parents were Denver natives, and his grandparents, originally from Eastern Europe, lived on Denver’s West Side.
Mr. Hailpern worked in various records management positions at Invesco and Aimco; his last position was at Akerman LLP.
“Scott’s ability to have a positive impact on anyone he met was truly a gift,” said his family. “More incredible, however, was the sheer number of people’s lives that he touched.”
“He was the true definition of a mensch,” the family continued, “and treasured all of the connections he made over his lifetime.”
Mr. Hailpern was a frequent correct guesser of the “Guess Who” portion of the Intermountain Jewish News’ Shmoos column.
Mr. Hailpern was survived by his mother Barbara Hailpern and sisters Traci Hailpern and Marcia Weiser.
