School psychologist during a pandemic

Ayala Zoltan Rockoff, who began working as DAT’s school psychologist in 2019, had no idea that a pandemic would upend the world in the coming months. Although DAT transitioned to online learning in March due to COVID-19, Rockoff practices her work with unwavering professionalism and concern. She misses the personal contact with her K-12 students yet has found ways to transcend walls. The New Rochelle, NY, native earned a BA with honors in Asian and Middle Eastern studies from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in early childhood special education from Columbia University and a PhD in school psychology from St. John’s University.
