Samuel Silver, a Denverite since 1964, passed away Jan. 11, 2010, in Thornton. Rabbi Benjy Brackman officiated at the Jan. 13 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Silver was born March 15, 1923, in Brooklyn, where he was raised. He attended yeshivas before joining the Army.
During WW II, he served with the 351st bomber squadron, also called the 8th Air Force.
Mr. Silver married Rosebelle Friedman in 1945. Mrs. Silver passed away in 2002.
Following a career in the Air Force, Mr. Silver retired in 1964 and moved to Denver with his family.
He then worked as mechanic for Frontier Airlines for 18 years.
He was a supporter of Yeshiva Toras Chaim.
Mr. Silver is survived by his sons Steven (Debbie) Silver of Broomfield and Howard (Teresa) Silver of Westminster; grandchildren Patrick, Craig, Rebecca, Jessica, Zachary, Elizabeth, Tania and Edson; and his sisters Ruth and Ann.
He was predeceased by his son Jerome Silver, who died in 2002.
