Ruth Weiss

Ruth Shirley Weiss, a former Denver resident, passed away Dec. 2, 2018, in San Diego, Calif. The graveside service was held Dec. 5 at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego.

Mrs. Weiss was born July 13, 1921, in Memphis, Tenn., and moved with her family to Denver in 1923, at age two.

She graduated East High School and attended DU.

On June 12, 1945, she married Dr. Joseph H. Weiss.

The family moved to California in 1962.

Mr. Weiss passed away in 1995.

Ruth Weiss is survived by her brothers Leland S. Huttner and Donald J. Huttner, both of Denver; children Marcy (Lex) Holland of Greenwood Village, Gary (Cathleen) Weiss of Port Malabar, Fla., and Cynthia (Benjamin) Asher of New York, NY; grandchildren Shana (Michael) Grundy of Westminster, Travis (Anne) Holland of Erie, Colo., Adam (Gosia) Weiss of Los Angeles, Joshua Weiss of San Diego, Caroline Weiss (Greg) Rishe of Santa Monica, Robert, Michael and Rachel-Marie Weiss of Port Malabar, and Kamyn and Tobin Asher of New York; and great-grandchildren Troy and Ryan Grundy of Westminster, Aria and Jude Holland of Erie, Julia and Hannah Weiss of Los Angeles and Jacob and Abra Rishe of Santa Monica.

Mrs. Weiss was predeceased by her son Dr. Jack L. Weiss on Aug. 29, 2015.
