
Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the Dec. 31 service at Temple Emanuels Feiner Chapel. Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Ruth was a wonderful cook who enjoyed hosting dinners for others, the family said. She loved music, opera, ballet and the theater, which she attended with her husband Babe through the years.
Many people called her Aunt Ruth and became part of her extended family.
Mrs. Kornfield was born July 13, 1917, in Denver. She graduated from South High and DUs Lamont School of Music.
She married Irving Babe Kornfield on Oct. 26, 1939, in Denver. Mr. Kornfield passed away on May 14, 2006.
Mrs. Kornfield helped with her husbands business.
Past president of Temple Emanuels Sisterhood, she volunteered at Rose Hospital for 37 years.
She belonged to the Rose womens board and later the Rose Foundations womens board.
A member of Hadassah and National Council of Jewish Women, Mrs. Kornfield was active with the Denver Post Opera.
She loved bridge and Mah Jongg, and played Scrabble to keep her mind sharp.
Mrs. Kornfield is survived by her daughter Donna (Joe Varco) Field; grandson Mark Edward Fargotstein; and great-grandson Aaron.
