Rowanne Spector

Rowanne SpectorRowanne B. Spector, a native Denverite, passed away April 12, 2015, in Denver. Rabbis Joseph Black and Yaakov Chaitovsky and Cantor Elizabeth Sacks officiated at the April 14 service at Temple Emanuel. Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mrs. Spector was born July 4, 1947, in Denver to Miriam and the late M. Jack Bernstein.

She married Sheldon Spector on June 26, 1972.

Mrs. Spector received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from CU, where she was a faithful Buffs fan.

A secondary teacher in the Council Bluffs, Jefferon County and Cherry Creek school districts, she also taught art at the Temple Emanuel religious school for 42 years.

She volunteered at her children’s schools and tutored students in need of extra assistance.

Mrs. Spector was very active in Women’s American Ort and bowled with the ORT League for many years.

Blessed with numerous creative talents, she was known for her amazing decorations, bulletin boards, calligraphy and needlepoint.

Mrs. Spector was an avid reader, sports fan and moviegoer.

“”She cared deeply about her family and friends, and they were so proud of her many accomplishments,”” the family said.

Mrs. Spector is survived by her husband Sheldon Spector; children Stephanie, Michael, Ira and Nathan; mother Miriam Bernstein; brothers William and Alfred Bernstein and sister Wendy Bernstein; brother-in-law Alan (Melanie) Spector and sister-in-law Shirley (Marvin) Hoffman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
