Rosyne Gardenswartz

Rosyne Gardenswartz, a beloved presence in Denver’s Jewish community, passed away Oct. 3, 2016, in Denver. Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Oct. 6 service at the HEA. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Rosyne Bloom was born Oct. 1, 1924, on the West Side to William and Shirley Bloom.

She graduated East High School.

Rosyne married Nathan “Dempsey” Gardenswartz on March 15, 1941.

They ran the Utica Grocery Store on West Colfax for more than 30 years.

Mr. Gardenswartz, her loving husband for 40 years, passed away in 1981.

Rosyne later worked in her son Ian’s accounting firm.

She was a graduate of the Melton Adult Mini-School.

Rosyne Gardenswartz is survived by her children Lee Gardenswartz, Beth (Arthur) Ojena, Mark (Brenda) Gardenswartz, Ian (Anath) Gardenswartz, Jill (Steve) Ebstein and Rabbi Wes (Shira Goodman) Gardenswartz; sister Evelyn Epstein; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
