Rose Versman

Rose Versman, 99, who moved to Denver in 2001, passed away Oct. 11, 2008. Services were held in Rock Island, Ill. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Rose, aka Rosie, was an active and alert 99 year old,” the family said. “She won the game of duplicate bridge she was playing on the afternoon that she died.”

The family said that Mrs. Versman spent the last seven years of her life at Park Place, “where she was beloved by all who knew her.”

Born in Poland, she came to the US and settled in the Quad Cities area of Iowa and Illinois. She was a high school graduate.

Rose Vesole married Robert Versman on Dec. 22, 1935. Mr. Versman passed away on July 6, 1993.

A homemaker, Mrs. Versman was active in all the Jewish organizations in the Quad Cities.

Mrs. Versman is survived by her children Judy (Stuart) Heller of Denver, Francie (Fred) Glassman of Los Angeles and Ken (Linda) Versman of Denver; grandchildren Doug Heller, Joan Heller, Carol (Hud) Karshmer, Margo (Doug) Diamond, Steve Glassman, Rebecca Versman and Allison Versman; and great-grandchildren Cailey Karshmer, Owen Karshmer, Ryan Diamond and Alanna Diamond.
