Rose Spiegleman

Rose M. Spiegleman, 74, passed away Dec. 24, 2010, after a long illness. Rabbis Joe Black and Steven Foster officiated at the Dec. 29 service held at Temple Emanuel. Private interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mrs. Spiegleman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Nursing School.

She worked as an RN at the VA Hospital in Denver, helped establish a prenatal clinic at Rose Medical Center, and belonged to a group that opened a psychiatric VA hospital in Palo Alto, Calif.


Mrs. Spiegleman, who became a broker associate specializing in residential housing with several companies, was most recently affiliated with Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty.

A teacher at Temple Emanuel’s preschool, she served on the board of Girl’s, Inc., and was active with the local and national Democratic Party and Emily’s List.

Mrs. Spiegleman is survived by her husband Don Spiegleman; children John (Jill) Spiegleman, and Julie (Mike Shomo) Spiegleman; grandchildren Taite Shomo, Devon Shomo, Quinn Shomo, Sam Spiegleman and Sophia Spiegleman; and brothers Rick (Judy) Sponaugle, Frank Sponaugle and Ken (Barbara) Sponaugle.
