Rosalind Oliver

Rosalind Dorothy Oliver, 94, passed away June 6, 2017, in Long Island, NY. The funeral service took place June 9.

Sheldon Steinhauser eulogized his sister as a woman “filled with love and warmth for friends and family alike, who exemplified fun, grace and class, always dressing in the right style for any occasion.”

Mrs. Oliver, who played the piano without a score, often joined members of the Pythian Sisters Order, of which she was a state leader, and performed at their conventions.

She also played the piano and sang for hospital patients and residents at senior living facilities.

After the death of her loving husband Bernard Oliver in 1984, Mrs. Oliver continued to be adored as the Steinhauser family matriarch.

Until the end of her life, she delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, conscientiously attending sporting events, recitals and plays.

Mrs. Oliver loved all music and musicals. She also composed songs, and her sister Iris would write the lyrics.

She was a frequent visitor to Colorado over the years.

Mrs. Oliver is survived by her brother Sheldon (Janice) Steinhauser of Denver and sister Iris Vinegar of Raleigh, NC; four children; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
