Rita Lea Stone, a performer in NCJWs Traveling Theater Group for several years, passed away Feb. 29, 2016. Rabbi Joseph Black and Cantors Regina Heit and Elizabeth Sacks officiated at the March 3 service at Temple Emanuel. Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“We will remember Rita as a loving spouse, doting mother, thoughtful and fun grandma and a loyal friend,” the family said. ”She had a heartfelt laugh.”
Mrs. Stone was born April 3, 1933, in Omaha, Neb.
She attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of Iowa.
On July 5, 1959, she married Ernest Ernie Stone in Omaha.
Mrs. Stone was an employee at Neusteters, May D&F, Lerners and American Greeting Card.
She loved being in NCJWs Traveling Theater Group.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her husband Ernest Stone; children Jamie (Mark) Idelberg of Denver and Brad (Catherine) Stone of Aurora; and grandchildren Lindsey Idelberg of Madrid, Spain, Adam Idelberg of Denver, Josh Stone and Sammy Stone, both of Aurora.
