Richard Silage

Richard George Silage, 80, passed away on April 20, 2019, in Denver. He was surrounded by his family. Rabbi Rachel Kobrin officiated at the April 25 graveside service at Golden Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Friends and family always enjoyed Dick’s quick wit, his cantankerous sense of humor and attention to detail, especially when building sandwiches and tacos,” his loved ones said.

Born in New York to the late George and Margaret (Varga) Silage, Mr. Silage spent his childhood in the city and on the beaches of Long Island.

He graduated Hofstra University in 1964.

Mr. Silage married Ruth Goldenberg on June 10, 1966. They had one daughter and grew their family through adoption.

He worked most of his life at Peat Marwick, transferring to Denver in 1982.

Mr. Silage, a computer specialist, always had an affinity for gadgets. When he was a boy, he built a robot in New York to the amazement of his neighbors.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Porter Hospice.

Mr. Silage is survived Ruth, his wife of 52 years; daughter Jennie (Tim) Fuhrer and son Alex (Ana) Silage; and granddaughter Samantha.

Contributions may be made in his name to the Porter Hospice.
