Richard GraberRichard Evan Graber, formerly of Cheyenne, Wyo., passed away Feb. 23, 2014, at his home in San Diego, Calif. A memorial service was held March 1 in Englewood.

“Rick was kind, gentle, smart and caring,” the family said. “He had close friends in Cheyenne, Denver, San Francisco and San Diego who will miss him dearly.”

Rick was born Oct. 26, 1961, in Cheyenne, to Norma and Esmond Graber.

Valedictorian of Cheyenne Central High School, he graduated the University of California-San Diego with a BA in philosophy cum laude in 1985.

He earned his law degree from the Hastings College of Law in San Francisco in 1988.

Admitted to the California Bar, Rick practiced with Seltzer, Caplan, McMahon and Vitek from 1988 to 1991. He then entered private practice.

A San Diego resident since 1988, he spent his most enjoyable years in La Jolla.

Rick was a superb athlete his entire life, especially in golf. He won the junior championship his senior year of high school and went on to successfully compete on the UCSD college team.

He will be remembered as a wonderful teacher and partner.

Rick Graber is survived by his mother Norma Pepper and brothers Mark and Sebastian.
