Reuven Hammer, a founder of Masorti, recalls early days at Rodef Shalom

, when Rabbi Reuven Hammer came back to Rodef Shalom, more than half a century after he became its spiritual leader, nostalgia was not among the emotions he felt. The rabbi and his wife Rahel clearly enjoyed the tour of the commodious synagogue, graciously provided by program director Connie Suson, but literally nothing was familiar to the man whose first pulpit was here.
