ROSE Community Foundation was named large nonprofit of the year at the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerces 2010 Colorado Business Awards luncheon.
The award came just days before the foundations 15th anniversary, April 25.
RCF was selected from a field of more than 40 nominees.
This honor is an opportunity for me to extend heartfelt thanks to the many people who have generously supported RCF with their leadership, expertise, financial resources, time and hard work throughout our history, said foundation President and CEO Sheila Bugdanowitz.
Together we have created an institution that has earned this important recognition.
RCF was founded on April 25, 1995 with an endowment of $170 million from the sale of Rose Medical Center to a private health care corporation. Since then, RCF and its donors have awarded more than $157 million in grants throughout the seven-county Denver metropolitan area.
RCFs current assets are valued at more than $253 million.
