Dr. Rachel Adisy Suson passed away May 24, 2015 at the age of 36 in Washington, DC. She was the wife of Denver native Rabbi Steven Suson.
Funeral services took place May 27 at Har Tzeon Agudath Achim in Silver Spring, Md., her husbands congregation, with Rabbi David-Seth Kirshner and Cantor Israel Singer officiating. Arrangements were made by Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home.
Rachel Adisy was born Sept. 11, 1978 to Leon and Maria Adisy in New Milford, NJ.
She married Steven Suson on June 17, 2007.
Dr. Suson earned BS degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the University of Minnesota, an MA from Fairleigh Dickinson, and recently her PhD in counseling psychology from Seton Hall University.
Her family said, ”She was compassionate, tenacious, intelligent and a loving soul. She will be missed terribly, but will remain in our hearts forever.”
Dr. Suson is survived by her husband Rabbi Steven Suson of Silver Spring, Md.; daughter Mara Leona Suson; parents Leon and Maria Adisy of New Milford, NJ; in-laws David and Connie Suson of Denver; and brother- and sisters-in-law Jonathan and Kristin Suson and Adrienne Suson of Denver.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rachel Suson Memorial Fund at Congregation Har Tzeon, Silver Spring, Md., BMH-BJ or Rodef Shalom.
