First there were the Five Books of Moses. Now there are the “Five Days of Doing Jewish” hosted by the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado, Sunday, Nov. 6-Thursday, Nov. 10.

  • • Days 1-3: The Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly (GA), which will include prominent speakers, Next Gen programming, a celebratory party, a young adult half day of service with an after-party and volunteer opportunities, Nov. 6-8.
  • • Day 4: Choices, AJF’’s signature Jewish women’s event of the year at the Sheraton Denver Downtown, Wednesday, Nov. 9.
  • • Day 5: The Men’s Event, AJF’s annual men’’s fundraising event, Thursday, Nov. 10, at a location to be announced.

“Beginning with the 2011 General Assembly on Sunday, Nov. 6, through Tuesday, Nov. 8, we will host between 3,000-4,000 Jewish leaders coming to the Denver community,”” said Nancy Gart, AJF’’s coordinating council chair.

“”We will have more than 150 nonprofit organizations from around the world descend upon Denver for the three day conference, ending on Nov. 8.

“”During the GA, we will welcome the international Jewish community, experience the power of the collective and highlight why Denver is a great place to live, work, play and be Jewish.””

The GA annually attracts over 3,000 educated and influential decision makers from Jewish communities all over the globe by showcasing top speakers from the political, business, and non-profit realms.

“”Past conferences have hosted US presidents and Israel prime ministers,”” said AJF’’s President and CEO Doug Seserman.

“”We are anticipating an impressive line-up of keynote speakers this year, hopefully including President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.”

““Colorado Jews will have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to participate in GA programming that focuses on highly relevant and timely issues in the Jewish world.””

National GA Co-Chair Michael Feiner said, ““Having these resources in our backyard is a rare and unique opportunity for all types of Jews.

““During this year’s conference, the federation will recruit several hundred volunteers and local community delegates, host a celebratory event for GA attendees, and coordinate a day of community service for young adults as well as a fabulous after-party for these volunteers with music, food and fun.””

Michael Feiner serves as the national GA co-chair in partnership with his wife Debbie Feiner, and Judy and Steve Silverman of Jacksonville, Fla.
