In Northern Ireland, where despite far reaching peace agreements conflict remains, Israel and Palestine have become a new outlet in a centuries-long war between Protestants and Catholics.
Under the mystical afternoon skies of the British Isles, an Israeli flag flies between two Union Jacks in this City Center Protestant stronghold.
Irish Republicans adopt the militant Palestinian cause on the political murals for which Belfast is known, particularly in this neighborhood which was the heartland of Catholic resistance during what locals call “The Troubles.”
