Philip Mobell, a Denver resident who also resided in Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away July 24, 2015, in Scottsdale. He was 90. Rabbis Bruce Dollin and Joe Black officiated at the July 27 service at the HEA. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
”Phil was a devoted husband to Arlene for 67 years,” his loved ones said. ”And he was fiercely devoted to his family.
“His positive attitude and desire to live enabled him to battle numerous health challenges. He is an example to all of us to never give up.”
Mr. Mobell was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Denver to the late Rose and Max Molbogat.
He attended West High School.
In WW II, Mr. Mobell served with the US Navy.
His ship was sunk in the Mediterranean by a German torpedo. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Mobell married Arlene on Sept. 7, 1947.
The couple opened the Blue Bonnet Restaurant in 1968.
After retiring from the Blue Bonnet, they spent their winters in Scottsdale.
Mr. Mobell is survived by his wife Arlene Mobell; children Marci (Howard) Rosenberg, Gary Mobell and Deb (Terry) Rochford; brother Sidney Mobell; grandchildren Lisa (Russell) Thomas, Robyn (Meir) Winkelstein and Alec and Anna Rochford; and great-grandchildren Samantha and Jack Thomas.
