Perfection

Who said breaking records is a good thing? Or perfection, for that matter?

Some years back, the Cleveland Browns finished their season with a 0-16 record. Used to being perennial losers, fans took it in stride, declaring a “perfect season.”

Now it’s the Denver Broncos who seem to be breaking all kinds of records.

First back-to-back losing seasons in over four decades. First 0-4 start in I’m not sure how long. First team in the past 50 years to have no sacks and no takeaways in the first three games of a season. Current owners of the longest active losing streak in the NFL.

How disappointing it’s going to be when the Broncos start winning games and stop breaking records!

Sports fans, do not stay downtrodden for long. Even if the Broncos manage to pull off a mediocre season (and at this point that would be miraculous), hockey season just started, and basketball isn’t too far behind. Denver is home to two of the hottest teams in those respective sports. Both the Avalanche and the Nuggets made runs — the Nuggets a deep run — in last year’s playoffs, and both are predicted to do even better in 2019-2020.

While the Broncos long held the honor of being the only championship team in Denver, the Nuggets and Avalanche are showing otherwise.

When the Avs and Nuggets start racking up the Ws, Broncomaniacs are going to have to ask themselves what kinds of record-breaking they prefer.
