Paul Morton Saliman, a native Denverite and lifelong resident, passed away May 7, 2013, in Denver.
Rabbis Ben Greenberg and Deborah Bronstein, Cantor Joel Lichterman and Cantorial Soloist Holli Berman officiated at the May 8 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Paul was diagnosed with melanoma and given short a short time to live 22 years ago, the family said.
Since then, as he fought against cancer and many other illnesses, he gave hope and comfort to many and his life was filled with the joy and love of family and friends.
Mr. Saliman was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Denver, to Hyman and Irene Saliman. He attended North High, Gordon City Junior College and DU.
He married Harriet Saliman on April 29, 1956.
In his youth Mr. Saliman worked at the familys tavern business and later the Denver Housing Authority.
After retiring in the 1970s, he volunteered at the Denver Public Library and recorded books for the blind.
Mr. Saliman is survived by his wife Harriet Saliman of Denver; children Edward Saliman of Denver, Caroline Saliman of Louisville and Mark Saliman of Denver; grandchildren Hallie, Avi and Rachel; and sister Barbara Saliman Moskowitz of New Jersey.
He was predeceased by his brother Capt. Norman Saliman.
