Frank Goldman speaks of his grandfather and namesake, he invariably uses the affectionate nickname long used by his forebear’s loved ones — “Papa Frank.” Although Goldman never met Papa Frank, who died a decade before his own birth in 1975, he most definitely knows him — maybe even better than his grandfather’s own contemporaries did.
