Pamela Schenkein

Pamela E. Schenkein, a longtime Denver attorney, passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2021.

Rabbi Rick Rheins officiated at the Aug. 29 funeral services held online and at Temple Sinai with burial at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

A graduate of East High School at the age of 16, Mrs. Schenkein earned her law degree in her 40s. She practiced law for more than 30 years, in private practice and in the insurance division of the Attorney General’s office.

She was “precociously brilliant,” her family said, a person who “never stopped wowing family and friends with her intelligence and her deep cultural knowledge.”

Mrs. Schenkein, who was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Schenkein, is survived by her son, Ed (Judy) Schenkein; daughter Suzy (Andy) Cooper; sister Rosee (Sandy) Hertz; and grandchildren Eddie and Eli Cooper and Sarah and Sam Schenkein.

Memorial contributions may be made to Colorado Public Radio.
