The way Missouri Rep. Todd Akin sees it, some rapes are legitimate and some are not; some are forced and some are not; some defy the laws of nature and some do not. The way former candidate for Colorado governor, Dan Maes, sees it, the UN is taking over Denver because of the city’s rent-a-bicycle program. The way Denver City Councilperson Robin Kniech sees it, Catholics aren’t good citizens if they practice Catholicism [see below]. What is it about politics that warps some people’s judgment so badly that one doesn’t know whether to be outraged or be astonished at what they say — whether to laugh or cry? Sometimes, you just have to shake your head.
