Library celebrates Jewish West Side

up a chair, sit back, relax and take a trip down memory lane. Or, better yet, discover a world you never knew. After scrolling through the interactive exhibit on Jewish West Denver at DenverPublic Library’s Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales branch on Irving and West Colfax — formerly, West Grand, something I didn’t know until this exhibition — I happened upon the real treasure trove. Two full documentaries are housed in the collection: one, “West Side Stories,” and the other, “A Grocery Store on Every Corner: A Century of Jewish Grocers in Colorado, 1859-1959.” Conveniently, the movies can be enlarged to fill the screen and there are couches and chairs in the vicinity.
