
Susan Cook passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 79. A service was held at Temple Emanuel on November 14, with interment at Emanuel Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Steven Foster, Rabbi Joe Black, Rabbi Emily Hyatt and Cantor Elizabeth Sacks. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mrs. Cook (nee Elgart) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 1, 1945. She attended the University of Michigan, where she met Julian Cook. They were married on May 29, 1966, in Cincinnati, and were a couple until Mrs. Cook’s passing.
After their wedding, Mr. Cook studied for rabbinical ordination.
Their travels took them to Indiana, Florida, Michigan and New York before moving to Denver.
With her degree in education from Michigan, Mrs. Cook became a master teacher for almost 40 years, the last 13 at Graland Country Day School in Denver.
“She was a wonderful wife, a terrific mother, a superb teacher and a great friend,” her family said.
Survivors are Mrs. Cook’s husband, Rabbi Julian Cook; children Rabbi Alan (Rabbi Jody Riches) Cook, Steven (Shira Rudavsky) Cook and Emily Cook, and grandchildren Gabe, Leo, Sally, Orli, Eva, Danny and Eden Cook.
