Longtime Denver resident and Colorado Air National Guard veteran Stephen Wenner died on August 17, 2025, at the age of 86. A service was held on August 20 at Temple Emanuel, with interment at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Mr. Wenner was born in Kansas City, Mo., on June 2, 1939. He graduated from East High School in 1957 and CU Boulder in 1961.
After college, Mr. Wenner joined the Colorado Air National Guard, from which he was honorably discharged. He became a CPA in 1963 at a firm which he ultimately purchased in 1970 and branded as Wenner, Silvestain & Company.
Mr. Wenner spent more than 45 years as managing partner at the firm, which was renamed the Wenner Group in 2012.
“He was an honored and valued member of the Denver business community,” his family said.
In December, 1969, Mr. Wenner married Enid Venger after the two met on a blind date. They were a couple for more than 55 years until Mr. Wenner’s passing.
Mr. Wenner was a chairman of the board of the American Medical Center–Cancer Research Hospital, and he volunteered at the I Have A Dream Foundation.
Mr. Wenner was a lifelong season ticket holder of the Denver Broncos, and hosted a Super Bowl party at his home for nearly 50 consecutive seasons. He was also an avid Rockies and Avalanche fan.
Survivors are Mr. Wenner’s wife Enid; children Michelle Wenner and Daniel (Christine Meding) Wenner; and grandchildren Josie, Jake and Cole.
