Longtime Denver resident Marjorie Rosen died on July 26, 2025. She was 97. A graveside service was held on July 29 at Rose Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Sarah Shulman. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mrs. Rosen was born in 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph and Yetta Doctorman. After Yetta died in childbirth some years later, Joseph married her sister, Celia, who raised Mrs. Rosen and her siblings.
In 1960, Mrs. Rosen married Harold Rosen and moved to Colorado. They were married by Rabbi Manuel Laderman and remained a couple for 63 years until Mr. Rosen’s passing in October, 2023. Prior to moving to Colorado, Mrs. Rosen worked at Doctorman and Son, her father’s meatpacking plant in Utah.
The Rosens were active with HEA, BMH-BJ and Yeshiva Toras Chaim.
Mrs. Rosen was a skilled bookkeeper who loved bowling and fishing — and all of her dogs, her family shared. “She was a friend who remembered to send birthday cards and she loved to cook and entertain. She really had a zest for living.”
Mrs. Rosen is survived by her children Rickie Rosen and Barry Rosen; and nieces and nephews Gary Doctorman, Ben (Alexandra) Doctorman and Linda Golub.
Contributions may be made to Yeshiva Toras Chaim, JFS or HEA.
