Obituary: Barry H. Silvestain

Noted accountant and devoted family man Barry H. Silvestain passed away March 17, 2026 at the age of 72, after a valiant fight with cancer.

A memorial service took place March 20 at Temple Emanuel with Rabbis Elizabeth Sacßπks and Steven Foster officiating. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mr. Silvestain was born in Denver on July 2, 1953, to the late Phyllis and Bennie Silvestain. He attended elementary school in Denver before his family moved to Huntington Beach, Calif. during his teenage years. There, he fell in love with the beach and with body surfing. Midway through high school, the family returned to Denver, where Mr. Silvestain graduated from Lakewood High School.

After graduating from CU Denver, he went on to become a CPA and joined his father Bennie and Steve Wenner at Wenner Silvestain and Company.

Mr. Silvestain met and married Regina in 1984. His number one priority was always his family, and he built deep and meaningful relationships with each of his children.

As his son Troy David said, “Barry was born to be a grandfather. He doted on and adored his two grandchildren, Kyle and Avery, and they adored their grandfather in return who they affectionately called ‘G.’”

Mr. Silvestain was deeply proud of his long and established career, found enjoyment as an avid golfer and gave back to his community by volunteering his time and energy as treasurer and board member of Jewish Family Service of Colorado.

Mr. Silvestain is survived by his wife Regina Silvestain; children Troy David (Cori) Silvestain, Rachel Silvestain and Steven (Sarah) Silvestain; siblings Jay (Donna) Silvestain, Michael (Carol) Silvestain and Cheryl Sanders; and grandchildren Kyle and Avery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Jewish Family Service of Colorado or Temple Emanuel.
