Stanley Ullman
Entrepreneur Stanley Ullman passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 79. A service was held on October 5 at Temple Sinai, with interment at Mount Nebo Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Rick Rheins. Arrangements were made by Feldman Mortuary.
A native of Ottumwa, Iowa, Mr. Ullman was in the food business for much of his career. Upon arriving in Denver with his family in 1983, Mr. Ullman was vice president of marketing at Longmont Turkey Foods. Later, Mr. Ullman marketed specialized fire escape ladders, and other entrepreneurial efforts.
“Stan was known for his unique way of telling a story,” his family said. “He often meandered to the point, taking his listeners on unexpected detours along the way.
“It was part of his charm, and those who loved him will miss his storytelling as much as the stories themselves.”
A lifelong fan of baseball, Mr. Ullman was devoted to the Colorado Rockies.
Mr. Ullman’s family said his other love was travel.
“Italy held a special place in his heart,” his family said. “Whether exploring new cities or revisiting favorite spots, he approached travel with curiosity and joy.”
Survivors are Mr. Ullman’s wife of 24 years, Paula; children Brad (Xi Cai) Ullman, Dani (Jason) Wynn, Kevin (Sarah) Oberndorf and Kelly (Cyrus Mehta); sister-in-law Ellen Ullman; brother-in-law Herb Hodes; and grandchildren Emma Wynn, Sam Wynn, Reilly Ullman, Catherine Ye, Ava Oberndorf, Luke Oberndorf, Junip Mehta and Remy Mehta.
Jon Madison
Denver native Jon Madison died on September 2, 2025. He was 72. A service was held on September 3 at BMH-BJ with interment at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Steven Foster. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Madison grew up in Crestmoor. His family says “It was a point of pride for him that he lived in the house he grew up in after buying it back in 1991.”
A George Washington High School graduate, Mr. Madison received undergraduate and law degrees at CU. Following college, Mr. Madison began his career in real estate and construction law. He worked for the same law firm, Wolf, Slatkin & Madison, his entire life.
An avid skier, Mr. Madison played tennis when he was younger and was a golf enthusiast.
“Dad’s generosity and loyalty were inspiring,” said Mr. Madison’s son Zachary. “When folks were kind, loyal and generous to Dad, he remembered and always gave back in kind.
“Whether in the form of lending his legal expertise when the owner of his favorite restaurant moved to a new building, or paying the funeral expenses for one of the nurses who supported my grandfather at the end of his life, Dad truly valued giving back and taking care of folks who were good to him, his family and his community.”
Mr. Madison is buried next to his son Erik, who died unexpectedly in 2016.
Survivors are son Zachary Madison and brother, Dr. Bruce (Susan) Madison. He is also mourned by Sandra Wages.
