Roberta “Bobbie” Quiat
Longtime Denver resident Roberta “Bobbie” Quiat passed away on December 11, 2024, at the age of 90. A private service was held, officiated by Rabbi Bruce Dollin. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisc., on March 21, 1934, Mrs. Quiat moved with her family to Denver at the age of eight and grew up on Denver’s West Side. She attended East High School.
Mrs. Quiat worked with computers and taught classes in the 1950s and ’60s. She married Gerald Quiat in 1962. They were a couple until Mr. Quiat’s passing in 2013.
“She was the consummate caretaker and fiercely protective of our family,” her family said.
“Also, she was very adventurous and traveled all over the world exploring nature and other cultures. She sat with mountain gorillas and mucked through jungles exploring nature.
“Her favorite destination was India.”
Survivors are children Melinda (Kevin Christensen) Quiat, Dan (Meg) Quiat, Ilana Quiat and Leonard (Rozarii Lynch) Quiat; stepchildren Jim (Adele) Quiat and Audrey Kentz; and grandchildren Rachel (Corey) McNulty, Bryce (Sherri) Halverson, Danielle (Kyle) Valone, Caitlin Quiat and Sarah (Eli Schwamm) Quiat.

Jamie Gulick
Longtime Denver resident Jamie Marissa Gulick passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 41. A celebration of life was held on December 13 at Rodef Shalom. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Ms. Gulick, born in Phoenix, Ariz., on May 2, 1983, received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona, and her master’s degree in social work at DU.
Fighting a lifelong battle with congenital heart disease, Ms. Gulick founded 2Hearts, a nonprofit organization that helps children with congenital heart disease transition into adulthood.
“Jamie lived her life with an unmatched sense of purpose,” her family said, “turning her lifelong struggle with congenital heart disease into a source of inspiration and advocacy.
Her family said Ms. Gulick loved to travel, was a Broadway musical aficionado, and was happiest outdoors — recently finishing her first long-distance trail running race.
“She approached every moment with courage and gratitude,” her family said. “Her unshakable optimism inspired everyone she met, as she encouraged those around her to live with intention, love deeply and care for one another.
“Her life was a testament to the power of resilience and determination.”
Survivors are Ms. Gulick’s parents, Jill Richling and Tom McMillen; daughters Izzy and Harper Gulick; and siblings Rachel Fritz and Ari Feldman.

Scott Handler
Denver native Scott Handler died on December 8, 2024. He was 62. A service was held on December 11 at Rose Hill Cemetery, officiated by Cantor Martin Goldstein. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Handler was born on November 24, 1962. He attended Cherry Creek High School and the University of Arizona, where he studied philosophy.
“His thirst for knowledge and asking big questions lead him to a life of learning, for those who knew Scott knew he was a thinker,” his family said.
“He was a charismatic man and loved his family, religion, books and especially dogs. He will be greatly missed.”
Survivors are Mr. Handler’s mother, Judy Handler; sister Lauren (John Silva) Handler; uncle and aunt Gary (Debbie) Mandelbaum; and great-aunt Phyllis Goodman.
