Jack Paul
Colorado native Jack Paul passed away on February 16, 2024. He was 21. A service was held on February 19 at BMH-BJ, with interment at Mt. Nebo Memorial Park, officiated by Rabbi Marc Soloway and Cantor Martin Goldstein. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Paul was born on April 14, 2002. He died after a five-year battle with cancer.
“From his early childhood, Jack always displayed a big heart and genuine concern for those around him,” his family said. “In middle school he developed his passion to help others.”
Mr. Paul was active in the Boulder Expand program as a mentor. In high school, he served in the Boulder Police Cadet Program, where his family said he discovered his passion for law enforcement. Jack was in the midst of attending CU-Colorado Springs, majoring in criminal justice, with hopes of pursuing a career as a detective.
“He also had a love and passion for Legos, comics and superheroes,” his family said.
Survivors are Mr. Paul’s parents, Tricia and Daniel Paul; siblings Harry and Gracie; and grandparents Sherry and Allen Tennenbaum and Donna Paul.

Dr. Robert Gold
US Air Force veteran Dr. Robert Gold passed away on February 20, 2024. He was 85. A service was held on February 23 at Temple Sinai, with interment at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Richard Rheins. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.
A native of Chicago, Ill., and born on May 7, 1938, Dr. Gold became a Civil Air Patrol Cadet and by the age of 16, earned his private pilot license.
In June, 1959, Robert and Marsha Gold were married in Chicago. They remained a couple until Dr. Gold’s passing.
Dr. Gold attended MIT and graduated from Northwestern University with an MD degree, before entering the Air Force in 1964.
In the Air Force, Dr. Gold achieved the rank of major, and became a fighter pilot, physician and researcher. He served in Vietnam as a doctor and pilot, and was awarded a Bronze Star for his bravery.
Upon conclusion of his military service, Dr. Gold moved to Colorado and completed his medical residency in anesthesiology at CU. He then worked as an anesthesiologist in Denver for 15 years.
In 1988, Dr. and Mrs. Gold made aliyah to Israel, where Dr. Gold worked in telecommunications for the Israeli government, before serving in the Israeli police force’s ballistics dept.
The couple returned to Denver in 1990, and Dr. Gold became CEO of Sky Fighters, Inc. He also served as a volunteer Aurora police officer and was a volunteer pilot with the Colorado Army National Guard.
“Robert was happiest when flying,” his family said.
Survivors are Dr. Gold’s wife Marsha; sons Eric (Natalya) Gold, David (Anastasya) Gold and Brian (Kori) Gold; grandchildren Naomi, Aliza, Michael, Kelly, Kyle, Jaiden, Jesse and Kyla; and great-grandson Ethan.

Marsha Pitter
Denver native Marsha Pitter passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 85. A service was held on February 26 at Rose Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Emily Hyatt. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born on October 24, 1938, Mrs. Pitter graduated from North High School in 1956 and got her first job at the Baker Shoe Store in downtown Denver.
On June 28, 1959, she married Ralph Pitter. They remained a couple until her passing.
“Marsha was forever grateful to Ralph for the distinct pleasure and privilege of allowing her to be a stay-at-home wife and mother,” her family said.
“She was the touchstone and light that brought everyone together.”
Survivors are Mrs. Pitter’s husband Ralph; daughters Cindy, Jeanee and Vikki; sons-in-law Tony and Greg; grandchildren Zachary, Jessica (Darren), Sophie and Esther; and great-grandson Elliot.

Leon Jaffe
Longtime Denver resident and US Army veteran Leon Jaffe died on February 13, 2024. He was 87. A service was held on February 25 at Emanuel Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Steven Foster. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born on September 29, 1936, in Fitchburg, Mass., Mr. Jaffe attended CU Boulder.
He met Betty Kark at registration, and they married one year later, in December, 1955. They remained a couple for nearly 69 years until Mrs. Kark’s passing in March, 2023.
After Mr. Jaffe’s first year of college he entered the US Army. He was stationed in Ft. Carson before being posted in Germany for three years, serving in the 8th Infantry Division.
Following his military service Mr. Jaffe returned to CU and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. In 1963 he took a teaching position with Denver Public Schools.
“He not only taught his students, but was a sought after guidance counselor by the students,” his family said. “This was a passion of Leon’s.”
Mr. Jaffe’s family also said: “He was a history buff and a die-hard fan of the Boston Celtics.”
Survivors are children Cindy (Joe Ortiz) Yabrove, David (Tracy) Jaffe, Jody (Gary Knoller) Jaffe and Allen Jaffe; grandchildren Hannah (Brian Rosner) Yabrove, Zoe Yabrove, Jessie (Ryan Flageolle) Jaffe, Zach Jaffe, Abra Lipsitz, Sarah (Ben) Flicker, Max Lipsitz, Aubrey DeClerq, Ward Jaffe and Dustyn Jaffe; and great-grandchildren Eddie and Dylan Rosner, and Naomi, Summer, Logan and Taya.
