Evelyn Epstein
Evelyn Epstein passed away on March 19, 2025, at the age of 95. A service was held on March 24 at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Salomon Gruenwald. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
A native of Staten Island, NY, and born on February 18, 1939, Mrs. Epstein worked as an executive assistant. She and Elliott Epstein were married in February, 1952. They lived in Fort Morgan, Livingston, NJ, and Northglenn. Mr. Epstein passed away in November, 2014.
“She was an avid reader, an enthusiastic diner at many Colorado restaurants and a devoted aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt,” her family said.
Survivors are children Alan (Jane Tempel) Epstein, Steven (Roy Marcus) Epstein and Susan Epstein; nephews and nieces Alan Lowry, Sharon Bornstein, Nancy Jackson, David Fischer, Rick Epstein, Ron Epstein, Valarie Kalb and Melanie Mark; and many grandnieces and nephews.

Mollie Newman
Longtime Denver resident Mollie Newman died on March 21, 2025. She was 81.
Mrs. Newman (née Saferstein) was born in St. Joseph, Mo., on June 3, 1943. She began work as a legal secretary in Denver when she met Jay Newman on a blind date nearly 60 years ago. They were married in 1966.
While raising her family, Mrs. Newman continued her career as a professional proofreader for court reporters. She also became the proofreader for the Colorado Group to Alleviate Smoking Pollution (GASP).
Mrs. Newman also became the editor of the Temple Sinai newsletter for many years.
“Some of her writings were published in scholastic journals and a piece found its way onto the pages of the Wall Street Journal,” her family said.
“Mollie was an avid reader; however, it needed to be quality literature to hold her interest and attention. You would most likely find her deep in the work of her favorite author, Philip Roth.”
Survivors are Mrs. Newman’s husband Jay; sons Adam and Noah Newman; granddaughters Jackie and Nina Newman; sister Lynne (Steve) Glasgow; and sister-in-law Sherry Newman.
