Arlene Fink
Longtime teacher and volunteer Arline Fink passed away June 8, 2022 at the age of 86. A service was held June 10 at Mt. Nebo Memorial Park, officiated by Rabbi Susan Rheins. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mrs. Fink grew up in Denver and graduated from DU with a teaching degree.
She taught English as a second language.
Mrs. Fink also volunteered for many years at the Museum of Nature and Science.
Mrs. Fink was married to Seymour Fink, until his passing in 2012.
“Arline Fink laughed, learned, lived and loved like no other,” her family said.
“Also, entertainment and making new friends was part of the adventure.”
Survivors are children Soni Fink, Karen (Jerry) Shepherd and Alan (Joyce) Fink; and three grandchildren.

Dr. Gary Markewich
Dr. Gary Markewich passed away on June 22, 2022, at the age of 78. A service was held in Colorado Springs on June 28 at Temple Shalom, officiated by Rabbi Jay Sherwood. Interment was at Sons of Israel Cemetery. Swan-Law Funeral Directors made the arrangements.
Dr. Markewich was born on March 10, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Jake and Florence Markewich. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and went on to earn his medical degree, specializing in dermatology. He completed his internship and residency at Brook Army Medical Hospital in San Antonio and served in the US Army.
In 1973, he was transferred to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs.
In 1975, Dr. Markewich opened a private practice in Colorado Springs, where he treated patients until 1991, the year he moved his practice to Las Vegas, Nev.
A passionate medical practitioner, Dr. Markewich loved schmoozing with and telling stories to his patients.
In 2018 he moved back to Colorado Springs to be near his family.
Dr. Markewich is survived by his sons Jeff, Bob and Aaron; and his grandchildren, Frances and Julius.

Robert “Bob” Talpers
Centenarian and WW II veteran Robert “Bob” Talpers died June 15, 2022, at the age of 103. A service was held June 20 at Emanuel Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Joseph Black and Rabbi Steven Foster. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Talpers was born on February 12, 1919 in Denver. He attended East High School and DU, and was a captain in the US Army during WW II.
Following his military service, Mr. Talpers married his wife Henrietta in March, 1946. They were married 37 years until her passing in April, 1983. In June, 1985, Mr. Talpers married Joanie Golden; they were married 35 years until Mrs. Talpers’ death in May, 2020.
Mr. Talpers was employed at Miller Furniture, and was also a successful realtor.
“He loved to laugh until it hurt!” his family said.
Survivors are children Gary (Nancy) Talpers and Ron Talpers, and seven grandchildren.
