Arlene ‘Cissi’ Morris
Denver native Arlene “Cissi” Morris passed away on April 19, 1924, at the age of 88. A service was held on April 21 at Feldman Mortuary, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Steve Kaye. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.
Ms. Morris, born on June 29, 1935, grew up on Denver’s West Side and attended North High School.
She worked for Jack Hogan Enterprises, which included such establishments as the London House, Bogarts and the Canterbury Inn. Ms. Morris then became a bar owner in Denver and operated bars for more than 30 years.
Ms. Morris was married to Harold Zadikoff and David Benchetrit.
“Her love for her family, her strength and wisdom and her personality were larger than life,” her family said.
Ms. Morris’ last wish was to attend her granddaughter’s wedding in March in San Clemente, Calif.
Survivors are children Barry (Mary) Zadikoff and Bobbi (Arnie) Niess; and grandchildren Michael Neiss, Sarah Ariel (Zach) Henry, Annabelle Zadikoff and Barry H. Zadikoff.

Elaine Kaplan
Elaine Rose Kaplan died on April 11, 2024. She was 87. A service was held on April 19 at Mt. Nebo Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Emily Hyatt. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Ms. Kaplan, born on August 21, 1936, in Nashville, Tenn., received a bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She spent most of her career in sales in the fashion industry.
She moved to Denver in 2019. She previously lived in Dallas, New York and Baton Rouge.
“After retiring from sales, Elaine found a passion for early childhood education and worked at the JCC in Nashville and at Beth Shalom Synagogue in Baton Rouge, caring for infants,” Ms. Kaplan’s family said.
Ms. Kaplan made trips to Eastern Europe to volunteer in orphanages.
“She embodied compassion and generosity of spirit. Elaine never knew a stranger, and her greatest talent was her ability to make everybody in her midst feel special.”
Survivors are sister Francine Kaplan Fisher and brother Julius (Robin) Kaplan; niece and nephew Ari Fisher and Shayna (Jordan) Fisher Friedman; and great-nephews Isaiah, Avi and Lev Friedman.
