many, I met Maurice Duman, who passed away just a few weeks ago, in his Capitol Hill tailor shop on East Colfax Avenue. On more than one occasion, this Holocaust survivor would regale me with memories 50 years old. For example, with gusto and great speed he would rattle off the list of his classmates from elementary school — in Polish. It took him but a few seconds to go through some 30 names.
