Nina Davidson

Nina Davidson, a Holocaust survivor who escaped Nazi Europe on a Kindertransport to England, passed away May 10, 2016, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the May 12 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mrs. Davidson was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Vienna, Austria.

A witness to Kristallnacht, she also was interrogated by the Nazis.

In 1939, she went to England on a Kindertransport. A manual laborer in the fields, she later trained as a nurse in London.

Mrs. Davidson arrived in the US in 1943, settled in New York and worked at a hospital.

In 1948, she was introduced to Daniel H. Davidson. They were married on Sept. 12, 1948 and were together for 51 years.

Mr. Davidson passed away on June 17, 2000.

Mrs. Davidson was employed at Beth Israel Hospital in Denver.

A student of medical transcription in the mid- to late 1970s, Mrs. Davidson worked part-time for a doctor and later as a receptionist for a physical therapist.

She loved playing Mah Jongg, taking trips to Central City and listening to opera. A voracious reader of fiction, Mrs. Davidson belonged to Temple Emanuel for 56 years.

Mrs. Davidson is survived by her son Bob (Susen) Davidson of Denver; sister Ilse Sahavi of Israel; niece Ayala Tzahar of Israel; and many second cousins and their children.
