Never hurts to dream

The Broncos start training camp as 30-1 odds to win Super Bowl 60. Those odds project the Broncos with the 14th best chance to win the title, the same odds as the Minnesota Vikings, but one slot better than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The hated Chiefs, meanwhile, have the fourth-best odds, behind Philadelphia, Buffalo and Baltimore.

If you put stock in odds published even before the pre-season, note that another of the Broncos’ AFC brethren, the Las Vegas Raiders, are listed at 100-1, better than only seven other NFL teams.

Now that stats are out of the way, let’s talk realism. While the Broncos may not be a serious Super Bowl contender, they should, reasonably, be expected to have some success in the playoffs. Quarterback Bo Nix is no longer a rookie, and key defense pieces have been added.

The Broncos open their preseason schedule at San Francisco on Aug. 9. Their regular season opener comes at home on Sept 7 against Tennessee. Other games to keep an eye on: week three at AFC West rival Los Angeles; the Chargers beat the Broncos on both occasions last season.

The first game against Kansas City is Nov. 16 at Empower Field. The second game is Dec. 25 in KC. Last season the Broncos beat the Chiefs the last weekend of the season, when the Chiefs rested their top players for the playoffs. Knocking off the Chiefs atop the AFC West in 2025-26? Never hurts to dream.
