Moshe Holder

Funeral services for Moshe Shmuel Holder, a Holocaust survivor and Jewish educator in Denver, took place Sept. 13, 2021 in Jerusalem. Mr. Holder passed away Sept. 11 in Denver.

Mr. Holder was a native of Romania, born Nov. 9, 1930, and later resided in Miami Beach, Fla. and Denver. In this city, he was a respected teacher at Hillel Academy, the Hebrew Educational Alliance and BMH.

His family noted that Mr. Holder “was beloved by all who knew him and the many that were taught by him. He overcame the horrors of the Holocaust and extensive loss of family. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was kind, caring and compassionate and generous.”

In recent years, he lived with and was cared for by Joe and Mindy Holder. Mr. Holder’s family expressed gratitude to Victor Roth “for his love, dedication and care” for Mr. Holder’s well-being.

Predeceased by his wife, Rachel, Mr. Holder was the father of Joseph and Mindy Holder, Izzy and Beverly Holder, Ron and Georgi Holder and Malka and Zisha Ritterman of blessed memory.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
