Miriam Slosky

Miriam “Mimi” Slosky, an elementary school teacher and a counselor for the mentally ill, passed away Oct. 5, 2019, in Denver. She was 95. Rabbi Emily Hyatt officiated at the Oct. 11 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Mimi was a woman of conviction,” her family said. “A devoted daughter, wife and mother, she was always a compassionate and good friend.”

Mrs. Slosky was born on Dec. 29, 1923, in Glencoe, Ill.

She attended the University of Illinois, CU, and earned her psychology degree at Colorado College.

During WW II, Mrs. Slosky was a volunteer counselor at Ft. Carson Army Mental Health Center.

After the war, she taught elementary school in Denver.

Mrs. Slosky, who was married to Ben Slosky for 50 years, ultimately counseled clients at the East Side Mental Health Center in Denver.

Mimi Slosky will be forever remembered and loved by her children David (Anne), Karen (Paul) and Mark; grandchildren Laura, Mathew (Katie) and Ryan Slosky, Carolyn Mindich Hoffman (Eric); and great-grandchildren Jackson Slosky and Benjamin Hoffman.

She was predeceased by her husband Ben Slosky.
