M.C. Mickey Brandon, a St. Louis singer and actor, died July 3, 2008. He was 83.
The funeral service was held at Congregation Shaarc Emeth in Creve Coeur. Interment followed at the United Hebrew Cemetery.
Mr. Brandon was born in St. Louis, Mo., where he and his late brother operated the former Brandon Brothers Furniture Store.
He married Rosetta Olevitch Brandon in 1948. They were married for 60 years.
Mr. Brandon was best known for his local theater work playing characters such as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. It was these songs that he enjoyed the most. Mickey sang Fiddler every chance he got, said long time musician and friend Tom Goldenberg.
He also used his rich baritone voice to perform for charitable organizations, retirement centers and nursing homes.
Mr. Brandon is survived by his wife Rosetta Olevitch Brandon; three sons, Henry Hank Brandon, Frank Brandon and Steve Brandon; daughter Linda Brandon; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
