Mayor John Suthers briefs Springs Jewish community

February, 2018, the Olympics will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea while construction of the US Olympic Museum and Hall of Fame is expected to be underway in downtown Colorado Springs. “We anticipate that between 350,000 and 400,000 visitors will visit the new Olympic Museum complex so it will represent a significant, part of the economic development of Colorado Springs. An estimated $80-90 million will be needed to create a state-of-the-art Olympic Museum,” Mayor John Suthers recently told a gathering at Temple Shalom. The museum is part of the $260 million City for Champions initiative and is headed up by Dick Celeste, former Colorado College President.
