Marvin Berkowitz

Marvin S. Berkowitz, a Denver native and long-time resident, passed away Dec. 29, 2017, in Denver. Rabbi Brian Immerman officiated at the Jan. 2, 2018 service. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“He was a loving father and husband,” the family said.

Mr. Berkowitz was born May 31, 1923, in Denver and was raised on the West Side.

A North High graduate, he briefly attended the University of Hawaii.

Mr. Berkowitz worked for the US Navy and was in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941.

Mr. Berkowitz married Doris Atkins Berkowitz in 1948. Mrs. Berkowitz passed away on April 7, 2009.

A salesman, Mr. Berkowitz owned a furniture store called “Berk” in Brighton, Colo.

Marvin Berkowitz is survived by his children Andrea (David) Fox and Paul Nathan Berkowitz; sisters Gertrude Neimrow and Minnie Freedman; and nephews and nieces Wendy, Stephen, Peter, Linda and David, and Linda, Mike, Michelle and Laura.
