Martha Lee Pogrew, a Denver native and lifetime resident, passed away Jan. 29, 2011, in Denver. Rabbi Sara Gilbert officiated at the Jan. 31 service held at Feldman Chapel. Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
She was a vivacious, eccentric, sweet woman who was always up for a great adventure, the family said.
Martha Lee Schwartz was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Denver. Raised on the West side, she graduated North High and attended Barnes Business School.
She worked at Denver Tramway, White House Cleaners and Miller Stockman.
On June 10, 1943, she married Sherman Pogrew. Mr. Pogrew passed away on Aug. 25, 1997.
Mrs. Pogrew later became a private detective and worked for a private investigator.
An excellent tennis player, she belonged to ORT and Alyn.
Mrs. Pogrew is survived by her children Lesly Pogrew-Terrance and Wendy (Dan) Kirby; and grandchildren Kyle (Sharon) Kirby and Alyssa Kirby.
