Mark Sytner

Holocaust survivor Mark Sytner passed away on Jan. 6, 2022, at the age of 83. A service was held Jan. 7 at Rose Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Bruce Dollin. Arrangements were made by Feldman Mortuary.

Mr. Sytner was born on Nov. 29, 1938 in Korin, Poland, one year before the German invasion of Poland in 1939. Mr. Sytner and his family escaped from Korin to Siberia, where they stayed for the duration of the war. In 1946 the family emigrated to the US, and settled in Denver in 1951. Mr. Sytner attended North High School.

In 1960, Mr. Sytner married his wife Babetta at BMH; they were married for over 60 years before Mr. Sytner’s passing.

Mr. Sytner owned Western Upholstery Supply. His family said “we all loved his sense of humor, love of family and his outgoing nature.”

Survivors include wife Babetta Sytner; children Mindi (Steven Frank) Olsson, Lisa (Albert) Ovando, Michael Sytner and Beth (Julio) Escobar; and nine grandchildren.

Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Colorado Chapter, or the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
