Marion Dattner, formerly of New York, passed away March 19, 2010, in Littleton. Rabbi Jay TelRav officiated at the March 23 service at Feldman Chapel. Interment followed at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“She was a model of feminine strength, will power and assertiveness, yet never lost her charm and wit,” the family said. “She was the culmination of what a woman can be.”

Mrs. Dattner was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Frankfurt, Germany.

On Kristallnacht, she watched her temple burn to the ground. The Gestapo broke into the family business and threw everything on the street. The men were rounded up.

Mrs. Dattner and her mother came to the US in January, 1939, and settled in New York City. The rest of her family perished.

A high school graduate, she attended college for one year in New York and entered the diamond business at age 19.

She married Sidney Dattner on May 11, 1944.

Mrs. Dattner worked as a diamond dealer at Wilsid Diamond Cutters and Monro Diamond International, Ltd.

In 1992, the couple moved to Parker to be closer to their daughter. Mr. Dattner passed away on March 10, 2003.

Mrs. Dattner retired in 2003.

She is survived by her daughter Monique Dattner-Greenberg (Daniel Lewis Greenberg); and her granddaughter Carly Michelle Greenberg.
