Margot Guldman, 99, passed away Jan. 5, 2010. The service was held Jan. 6 at Shalom Funeral Chapel, and burial took place at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Shalom Funeral Service made the arrangements.
Mrs. Guldman was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Nuremberg, Germany, to the late Isador and Sophie Luchs.
Margot, her husband Max Guldman and their young son Earnest fled Nazi Germany in 1938 and came to Denver. Mr. Guldman founded Guldman Linen and Columbine Manufacturing Co. in 1940.
Earnest, who celebrated his Bar Mitzvah at BMH in 1948, had contracted a strep infection on the boat to the US but was unable to receive medical treatment. He died at age 14.
An accomplished pianist and a fine cook and hostess, Mrs. Guldman will be remembered for her strong character and kindness, friends and family said.
Mrs. Guldman is survived by her nieces Evelyn Luchs Savitz of Boston and Sonia Glasner of Los Angeles; nephews Bernie Luchs of Salt Lake City and Rudi Stern of Santiago, Chile; sister-in-law Edith Luchs of Salt Lake, and six grandnephews and grandnieces.
