Manny Greenberg passed away suddenly Aug. 30, 2009, in Beijing, China. He was 82. The memorial service will be held Sept. 10, 1:30 p.m., at Temple Emanuel. Burial will follow at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary is making the arrangements.
He dedicated his life to helping and mentoring others, giving advice, supporting the arts and being closely involved with his family and community, the family said.
His amazing energy, charismatic personality and zest for life have touched the hearts of many friends and acquaintances.
Mr. Greenberg was born July 28, 1927, in Chicago. He served in the US Air Force as a control tower operator in Alaska during WW II.
He married Elinor Miller, his loving wife of 53 years, on Dec. 26, 1955.
Mr. Greenberg owned University TV & Stereo with his late brother Bill and later worked in real estate and sales.
Mr. Greenberg is survived by his wife Elinor Ellie Greenberg; children Julie (David) Richman, Andrea Andy Greenberg and Michael (Elizabeth) Greenberg; and grandchildren Joshua and Adam Richman and Madeline and Alexandra Pip Greenberg.
